Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor-enhancer designed to mask the lack of real ingredients in processed food. MSG irritates our digestive tract, which in-turn, depletes our energy. It has been linked to brain damage, migraines, ADD, ADHD, obesity, and other health issues.

MSG is a slow poison, which hides behind dozens of names, such as natural flavoring, yeast extract, autolyzed yeast extract, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate, caseinate, textured protein, hydrolyzed pea protein and many others. Currently, labeling standards do not require MSG to be listed in the ingredient list of thousands of foods. MSG is not a nutrient, vitamin, or mineral and has no health benefits.

MSG is an excitotoxin, a chemical that causes a brain cell to become overexcited and fire uncontrollably, leading to cell death. MSG (and other excitotoxins like aspartame) has the potential for inflicting permanent damage to the brain and nervous system. These chemicals also cross the placental barrier, which could potentially harm the brains of unborn children. When your doctor tells you to avoid MSG while you are pregnant, this is why.

There are a growing number of clinicians and scientists who are convinced that excitotoxins play a critical role in the development of several neurological disorders, including migraines, seizures, infections, abnormal neural development, certain endocrine disorders, specific types of obesity, and especially the neurodegenerative diseases; a group of diseases which includes: ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and Huntington’s disease.

MSG is often found in Chinese food, certain processed soups, snack foods, and even infant formula and baby food! MSG can be tough to avoid because the ingredient labels aren’t always clear. The following picture details the ingredients that ALWAYS indicate MSG is in the product:

The next ingredients listed do not contain MSG, but are added to activate MSG already contained in the food product. Thus, if they are on the label, MSG is present:

Disodium Guanylate
Disodium Inosinate

Additionally, these products always contain MSG:

Ranch Salad Dressing (most salad dressings are of concern, but Ranch is the worst)
Vegetable Dips
All Flavored Chips
Sun Chips
Doritos

It is important to note that foods often contain MSG if any of the following are in the ingredients list. Since there is really no way to tell if MSG is lurking in the product, is is best to avoid the following ingredients:

(The items in red are also at risk of being genetically modified.)

Annatto
Barley Malt
Bouillon
Citric acid (when processed from corn)
Corn syrup and corn syrup solids (partly depends upon process used)

Top Ten Foods Where MSG is Found

•Soups, broths and bouillon blocks
•Ramen and other ‘instant’ noodles
•Prepackaged processed foods (including boxed foods and mixes)
•Frozen foods and TV dinners
•Sauces, seasonings and gravies (esp. soy sauce)
•Salad dressings
•Most of the menu at fast food chains and restaurants
•Chips and other flavor-enhanced snack foods
•Meats, particularly those marinated or preseasoned, many types of lunch meats, hotdogs etc.
•Carrageenan, sodium caseinate and other commonly used thickening agents

Worse, MSG is now commonly used as a major additive in vaccines, along with other dangerous ingredients, including thimerosol (mercury), aluminum, formaldehyde, fetal bovine serum, polysorbate 80 and more. It also shows up under sometimes hidden names on vaccine ingredients (including “amino acids” “L-monosodium glutamate” and “hydrolyzed gelatin”) supposedly to preserve and “stabilize” the attenuated virus and maintain its effectiveness.

Here’s a list of vaccines containing MSG and the code names used on the ingredient’s list, which, like foods, have excitotoxic effects which can damage the central nervous and endocrine systems:
